Movie Review:Ted

7 / 18 / 128 / 13 / 18

220px-Ted_poster

KonaBoy and I went to see Ted a couple of weeks ago right when it came out.  I’ll admit that I was not excited to see the movie because I thought that since the movie posters did not look that appealing and their screen writers were the guys from Family Guy that it was going to be a poorly written movie.

The movie was definitely better than I expected it to me and it had more substance to it. Good job Seth McFarlane. Ted is the story of a young lonely boy named John Bennett who receives a teddy bear as a Christmas gift. That night under a shooting star he makes a wish that his teddy bear could be alive and really be his best friend. By some oddity his teddy bear comes to life and so begins the story of John and Ted. Flash forward 20 years and John is now a grown man who is trying to hold down a steady job at a rental car agency, living with his girlfriend of 3 years, and still has Ted by his side. I won’t give the majority of the plot away since it’s definitely worth seeing, but by the end of the movie John gets to keep Ted and marry his girlfriend too.

The movie gets a little confusing because it seemed to have two interweaving plots going at once. The story of John and Ted and how their friendship needs to evolve as John grows up. The second plot being the story of Ted and mishaps of being a famous talking teddy bear.

I definitely recommend that you go see this movie in theaters since it is still there and on dvd when it comes out. Enjoy!

Things I love ♥ 7.13.12

7 / 14 / 128 / 13 / 18

Today I’m linking up with Lauren from My Grey Desk for a High Five for Friday post also known as Things I love lately. Posts for the Things I love will vary from Thursdays to Fridays depending on the week, but they will definitely be navigating from Tantalizing Tuesdays. Sorry for the inconveniences.

1.

P1020674

KonaBoy picked up a Keroppi and a Hello Kitty at the store this week because he thought they were together. Even though they aren’t together I got a Keroppi to live in my car and he now has a Hello Kitty for his place 🙂

2.

I just picked up the latest Jon McLaughlin cd Promising Promises and its absolutely amazing I can’t even. You just need to listen to him and see how amazing and underrated he is for yourself.

3.  I’ve been finishing a few books lately and hopefully that means more reviews here. I know I’m a slacker, but I have a ton of posts planned and upcoming and you are going to love them all, books and movies 🙂

4. I’ve been loving meeting up with friends for drinks and catching up.  A white wine or a moscato after work definitely has been perfectly hitting the spot.

5. I’ve been obsessively watching my netflix again recently and I’ve been really loving it! I found Lipstick Jungle and I forgot why I stopped watching that show and it got cancelled. I’m almost done with the series, so if there’s anything you recommend I watch let me know.

I hope that you are having an amazing Friday and have an amazing weekend ahead of you.

Movie Review: Men in Black 3

7 / 11 / 128 / 13 / 18

men-in-black-3-poster

This movie review probably should have gone up sooner. Oh the busy lives we lead sometimes. At any rate here is my review on the movie.

In Men in Black 3, Agents J (Will Smith) and K (Tommy Lee Jones) are back…in time. J has seen some inexplicable things in his 15 years with the Men in Black, but nothing, not even aliens, perplexes him as much as his wry, reticent partner. But when K’s life and the fate of the planet are put at stake, Agent J will have to travel back in time to put things right. J discovers that there are secrets to the universe that K never told him — secrets that will reveal themselves as he teams up with the young Agent K (Josh Brolin) to save his partner, the agency, and the future of humankind.

Josh Brolin is amazing in this film and does a killer job as a young Agent K. See it has been too long because I can’t remember the characters names other than Agent K and Agent J.  Nicole Scherzinger also makes a nice appearance towards the beginning of the film for a bit before she is killed that isn’t a huge spoiler though. If you enjoyed the other two Men in Black movies you are sure to enjoy this one. It definitely puts a nice bow on the series and explains that Agent K’s involvement in Agent J’s life is far more than we initially thought it was. Enjoy!

I got inspired by the ladies over at Her Late Night Cravings to do a video on my June empties.  This is partially done because as much as I love doing project pan sometimes I get frustrated and hey I’m a shopper and still want to shop, so having monthly editions of empties inspires me to keep going.Below is a list of products I used up as shown in the video:

I finished my third book of the year so far. ⭐⭐⭐⭐/5 The short diary excerpts made me want to keep turning pages to find out what happens next. I loved the plot twist, though a part of me felt kind of sad for the mother in the end.😉 I wouldn't mind reading a follow up to this book to find out what happens to Maddy & Olly in the future. A more in depth review in on the blog now. #linkinbio

This post went up on the blog yesterday, but here' This post went up on the blog yesterday, but here's a short synopsis with less words. Interesting book. Reads a bit like Birds of Prey the movie where Harley Quinn is narrating the story. ⭐⭐⭐⭐/5 stars I also thought the sketchy style of art was an interesting twist as compared to the rest of the books. Would recommend although it feels like it could use a sequel 😉 #jamiereads #52books #bookblogger #bookstagram #❤️
