Scaretober-Movie Review: 13 Sins

scaretober 2020

Welcome to the first day of October! I hope that your year has been going well. If you have been with me a while, you will know that every year I attempt to watch a lot of scary movies for October mostly to cure myself of my wariness of scary movies. When I started this series several years ago, I could barely sit through a scary movie to save my life. Now since doing this series I can say that I am much better. Last year, I decided to attempt to add books to this series. Unfortunately, I didn’t end up completing this series last year, but I have high hopes for this year 😉

Today’s first movie is 13 Sins. I had this as a movie recommendation of Elle Fowler, a former youtube guru, which you can find here.

Here’s a quick synopsis of the movie:
Elliot, a down on his luck salesman, gets a mysterious phone call that prompts him to do a bunch of random not so nice scenarios. At first Elliot is hesitant to do the tasks and feels like he would be selling out for money, but soon realizes that he wants the money more than he cares about his moral compass. After doing the first few tasks, Elliot discovers that he is competing against another player for the big money. The scenarios get more and more vicious as time goes on and soon Elliot becomes horrified at what he is doing and tries to back out of the game. It soon becomes too late and there is no way to end it aside from death.

I won’t spoil the ending for you, but I will tell you that this thriller/ horror movie had me on the edge of my seat until the end of the movie. I would definitely recommend this if you like would you rather thrillers with dramatic twists and turns.

I hope that you will continue on with me to see what other movies I watch and what other books I read during this month. See you soon!
