Scaretober-Movie Review: The Frozen

For the month of October I’ve dubbed it Scaretober in which I will be blogging every day in October. No, it’s not just random blogs in October but specifically scary movies movies. I’m definitely not one of those girls that enjoys scary movies by any means in fact this is a HUGE challenge for me since I’m such a wimp when it comes down to it. Some of the movies reviewed will be super scary and others will just be 90′s cheesy scary compared to today’s standards. There will be a few days during this month that I will be putting up more than one posts, because sometimes you can’t hold any awesome back when it comes to the blog.
Today’s movie is The Frozen

The movie opens with a girl taking a pregnancy test and finding out that she’s pregnant. Her boyfriend then comes in and takes her on a camping trip in the wilderness. They stop to ask for directions at a local gas station and get to a campsite in a secluded area. After setting up camp they go on a snowmobile ride around and when they get nearly back to the campsite they hit a rock and fly off the snowmobile wrecking it. They  are ok and decide to head back to the campsite and work on the snowmobile in the morning. The girl, Emma on the way back to camp gets freaked out when she sees someone watching them. When she tells Mike, her boyfriend he blows her off that she’s going crazy and overly scared. Later that night Emma tells Mike that she is pregnant but is planning on having an abortion since she can not see complicating their lives anymore. That night Emma has a nightmare about her pregnancy. The next day they work on the snowmobile for a while before Emma insists on trying to walk back to the truck while they are walking back it starts to snow and they get a bit lost. Mike decides that it would be better to head back to camp and start out for the truck first thing in the morning. That night they hear footsteps around the camp and Mike goes to investigate and does not come back. Emma  then spends 2 days trying to get out of the woods. She then manages to get out of the woods and head for the town. Once there she walks into a diner and asks for help only to discover that no one can see or hear her. The guy that has been following her is actually the Angel of Death coming to take her to the next land and he explains to Emma that when she and Mike got into the snowmobile wreck they died instantly. He also explains to her that Mike has already gone on and wanted to tell her but he couldn’t. She leaves with him.

I thought that this movie was pretty scary and had me jumping in parts, but I would possibly watch this again in the future. I wish that this movie had at least one big name star so that it would have gotten a bit more hype. I would definitely recommend that you check this movie out if you get the chance. I will be back soon with another Scaretober post. Hope that your month has been going well. Sorry that this series has been such a rough ride so far.
