Welcome to the second day of October! I hope that your year has been going well. If you have been with me a while, you will know that every year I attempt to watch a lot of scary movies for October mostly to cure myself of my wariness of scary movies. When I started this series several years ago, I could barely sit through a scary movie to save my life. Now since doing this series I can say that I am much better. Last year, I decided to attempt to add books to this series. Unfortunately, I didn’t end up completing this series last year, but I have high hopes for this year 😉
The second movie for this year is the Houses October built 2.
Times have not become more violent. They have just become more televised. Marilyn Manson.
If you haven’t heard of this movie or it’s prequel feel free to read my review of the first one here. The introduction to this movie picks up at the end of the last movie, which shows a person trapped in the trunk of a car and then being dropped off on the side of the road along with video tapes. Flash forward a year later and a news reporter is talking about the incident from the year before as well as this year’s incident saying that this Halloween had taken a tragic turn. The movie then cuts to 2 guys asking the girl to join them on a couple of Halloween Haunts that they are being paid to visit based on their fame of last year. The girl refuses, but that doesn’t stop the guys from going through with going to these haunts.
This is shot in the same style as the last movie, but with less interviews. This time they also included some not so extreme events that are themed around Halloween such as a zombie run and a zombie bar crawl. I thought that this second part to the movie was much less scary than the first one though, I was still surprised at the ending. If you have seen the first one I would recommend that you watch this movie, just to see where the series goes. I’m still left wondering if the Blue Skeleton is real and what is their true business.
Hope that you are having a good October and I will see you soon with another post.
