Welcome to the fifth day of October! I hope that your year has been going well. If you have been with me a while, you will know that every year I attempt to watch a lot of scary movies for October mostly to cure myself of my wariness of scary movies. When I started this series several years ago, I could barely sit through a scary movie to save my life. Now since doing this series I can say that I am much better. Last year, I decided to attempt to add books to this series. Unfortunately, I didn’t end up completing this series last year, but I have high hopes for this year 😉
The fifth movie this year is Tremors.
Here’s a quick rundown of the movie with no spoilers or at least I’ll try with no spoilers. Kevin Bacon, plays a character named Val and his friend Earl work as handyman in a small town called Perfection, Nevada. They always talk about getting out of the small town and head to the big city. One day they decide to really take off and head for the big city, but just as they are about to leave town the residents start getting attacked by creatures that can only be found underground. The creatures figure out where the residents are by the seismic activity they give off into the ground. Soon quite a bit of residents get killed by the creatures, which the residents name Tremors. Once the majority of the Tremors are killed, Val and Earl still decide to leave town.
I gave you the basic script line of the movie, please note that this movie was done in 1990 and while a lot of special effects in Hollywood have advanced, somethings like the script lines still have remained the same. I would honestly tell you that this movie had more jump scares than real scares and the premise of this was a little bit out there. I wouldn’t recommend this movie, but I may be watching the rest of the series during this month.
Let me know if you have seen this movie and what you thought of it. I do know that there was a SyFy reboot of this movie in recent times, so perhaps there will be a review of that on here also. I hope that you enjoyed this post and you will come back for more posts like this during this month, I’ll even have a post here for you tomorrow. See you soon!
